Hole #1
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 374 #2 . 363 #3 . 318 #4 . 316
HOLE DESCRIPTION
Our starting hole requires a straight drive down the left side of the fairway. From the fairway you should have a mid to short iron to a green that slopes from the back left to the front right. An approach shot left below the hole location can lead to a very makeable putt.
PRO TIP
Approach shot plays uphill about a half club. If you miss your approach shot, miss short. Any miss long can make for a tough up and down.
Hole #2
PAR 3
#1 Tee . 156 #2 . 140 #3 . 133 #4 . 116
HOLE DESCRIPTION
This medium length Par 3 provides a good opportunity for a Birdie with a well-placed tee shot. However, if you miss this green, getting up and down can be a challenge.
PRO TIP
Aim to the middle / right-center of the green. If you miss left it is very difficult to get up and down, so always miss right.
Hole #3
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 341 #2 . 325 #3 . 282 #4 . 280
HOLE DESCRIPTION
This is a strategic hole, be patient. A tee shot down the right side will end up in the fairway. Take one – two extra clubs for your uphill approach shot. A par is a good score here.
PRO TIP
On the approach shot I like middle or front of the green. Missing long is not an option.
Hole #4
PAR 3
#1 Tee . 197 #2 . 185 #3 . 136 #4 . 133
HOLE DESCRIPTION
A long Par 3 with a generous green. The green slopes from back to front. Any miss left, right or short will bounce and roll away from the green.
PRO TIP
Regardless of hole location, play to the middle of the green. A Par is a good score here.
Hole #5
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 422 #2 . 409 #3 . 350 #4 . 349
HOLE DESCRIPTION
Challenging Par 4 that many of the Members consider their favorite. A good tee shot down the right center of the fairway will leave you in a good spot for your uphill approach shot. The large green provides for a variety of hole locations that are all very accessible.
PRO TIP
I like a tee shot that ends up left center of the fairway. From here you have a more level lie from which to hit your uphill approach shot. Be aggressive here as a miss will most likely leave a straightforward chip.
Hole #6
PAR 5
#1 Tee . 470 #2 . 450 #3 . 404 #4 . 400
HOLE DESCRIPTION
A reachable Par 5 with a creek that runs diagonal across the fairway in the landing zone of the longer hitters. If you prefer to lay back off the tee and lay up for your second shot, your third shot will likely be a short iron or wedge. Very receptive green that slopes back to front, a bunker guards the left side.
PRO TIP
Birdie opportunity here! This hole may be reached in two if you challenge the creek and hit your tee shot down the left side of the fairway. It’s worth the risk for the Birdie or Eagle opportunity.
Hole #7
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 438 #2 . 408 #3 . 384 #4 . 378
HOLE DESCRIPTION
Long Par 4 that requires two good shots to reach in regulation. The green will allow shots to hit short and run on if you cannot fly your ball to the putting surface. Out of bounds runs down the right side of the entire golf hole around the back of the green.
PRO TIP
This is a difficult hole. Requires a good tee shot followed by a good second shot. Favor the left side of the hole with each shot to avoid the out of bounds down the right and behind the green. Make a par and move on.
Hole #8
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 396 #2 . 373 #3 . 328 #4 . 326
HOLE DESCRIPTION
What a great mountain golf hole! The fairway has a subtle curve to the right at the top of the hill. This is one of the larger greens on the golf course and is receptive to approach shots, slope is right to left.
PRO TIP
If you play to the top of the hill you will have about 130-150 yards to the green. If you crest the hill with your tee shot, the ball will roll down and across the fairway, leaving you with a short wedge shot ... probably from the rough. This is the better play and will give you the best chance for a Birdie.
Hole #9
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 375 #2 . 350 #3 . 274 #4 . 270
HOLE DESCRIPTION
What a nice hole to end your front 9. A good tee shot leaves you with a mid to short iron to a generous green. A bunker guards the left side of the green and any shots the miss right or long will bounce and roll away from the green.
PRO TIP
Get your tee shot in the fairway. This green is accessible from either the left or right side of the fairway and a good opportunity to make a Birdie. Your miss is short here, right and long will leave you with a very tough up and down.
Hole #10
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 426 #2 . 416 #3 . 377 #4 . 375
HOLE DESCRIPTION
One of the best Par 4s anywhere. This is a long hole where you need to challenge the creek to reach the green in two. Long hitters can take it over the creek for a short iron approach shot. With a large green, you may play a conservative approach shot to just about any hole location. A Par is a good score here.
PRO TIP
The green slopes back to front, however it is elevated, so the shorter your approach shot, the easier it will be to hold the green. If you have the length, take on the creek to have a short iron to the green.
Hole #11
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 374 #2 . 341 #3 . 286 #4 . 282
HOLE DESCRIPTION
What you see is what you get, generous fairway to an elevated green that slopes back to front. Approach shot plays at least one more club than the yardage. An approach shot that lands short of the green will come all the way back down the hill.
PRO TIP
Good Birdie opportunity with an aggressive second shot. Like the description says though, if you are short or spin the ball back too much, it will come back off the front and down the hill.
Hole #12
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 350 #2 . 305 #3 . 260 #4 . 254
HOLE DESCRIPTION
Like hole #3, this is a strategic hole. Sharp dogleg right off the tee. Your approach shot is to a 3-tiered green, the lower front tier being the most accessible and where most shots will end up. The higher back left and back right tiers are small and unforgiving to errant approach shots.
PRO TIP
Many a Birdie opportunity has turned into a double bogey here. A front pin is an opportunity, proceed with caution on either back left or back right.
Hole #13
PAR 3
#1 Tee . 197 #2 . 193 #3 . 107 #4 . 105
HOLE DESCRIPTION
Bob Jones described this hole as an easy Par 5, a tough Par 4 and a very difficult Par 3. The reward for hitting the green with your tee shot is the privilege of walking the foot bridge with your putter in hand. Enjoy.
PRO TIP
The best way to play this hole is front to middle of the green. A miss middle to long left or right can result in a penalty stroke or lost ball.
Hole #14
PAR 5
#1 Tee . 537 #2 . 498 #3 . 447 #4 . 444
HOLE DESCRIPTION
14. Time to let one loose. You have a generous landing area off the tee of this Par 5. Your second shot is blind, but also too a very generous, downhill landing area. The green slopes back to front from the middle of the green and is flat to sloping away going towards the back. Birdie opportunity for some hole locations, be cautious with a back hole location.
PRO TIP
Birdie opportunity! To give yourself a chance to reach in two, favor the right side of the fairway off the tee. If you go for the green in two, miss short. A long miss can go out of bounds, result in an unplayable lie or be very difficult to get up and down.
Hole #15
PAR 4
#1 Tee . 390 #2 . 356 #3 . 306 #4 . 302
HOLE DESCRIPTION
Many consider #15 to be our signature hole. The play here is to favor the left center to avoid trouble on the right. This green slopes from back to front, severely in some spots. Putts from above the hole can get away from you so stay below the hole with your approach shot.
PRO TIP
Tee shot in the fairway is important. Keep your approach shot below the hole and you can be aggressive with your Birdie putt.
Hole #16
PAR 3
#1 Tee . 151 #2 . 142 #3 . 135 #4 . 128
HOLE DESCRIPTION
This short Par 3 can be sneaky difficult. Hit the putting surface and you may have a good chance at Birdie. Miss the green and you will have a tough up and down.
PRO TIP
Just like the description says, hitting the green is the key. Getting too aggressive can leave a very difficult up and down. I like the middle of the green for most hole locations.
Hole #17
PAR 5
#1 Tee . 490 #2 . 478 #3 . 459 #4 . 451
HOLE DESCRIPTION
A good scoring opportunity here on this reachable Par 5. Favor the left side with your tee shot as the fairway slopes left to right. A well struck tee shot should allow you to go for the green with your second shot. If you need or prefer to lay up, that is fine, you can be aggressive with your next shot. The green here is large with many great hole locations.
PRO TIP
This hole plays like a long Par 4 if you put your tee shot in the fairway. Good opportunity to make an Eagle or Birdie coming in.
Hole #18
PAR 3
#1 Tee . 179 #2 . 165 #3 . 131 #4 . 121
HOLE DESCRIPTION
With a view of the lake, Hudson House, Clubhouse and Croquet lawns, it is easy to be distracted on this finishing Par 3. This hole plays slightly downhill to a very receptive green. The green gently slopes from back to front, a good shot will result in a makeable Birdie putt to complete your round.
PRO TIP
You can be aggressive here, just do not short side yourself. Middle of the green leaves a makeable putt with most hole locations.
